45 minutes is an average length of the dance4life Heart Connection Tour in Russian schools.

The Heart Connection tour is the first stage of dance4life, during which a motivating and inspirational presentation is held for young people in schools.

The presentation uses youth culture (videos, music, celebrity endorsements, etc.) to introduce the campaign, encourage the audience to take action, and to stress the importance of being informed in maintaining health, all in an honest and open fashion.

The Heart Connection Tour’s goal is to invite young people to participate in the interactive training program, skills4life.  Those under 18 need parental consent in order to take part in the program.  Usually this is not an issue, however many parents feel it important to know in what training programs their children participate.

8192 volunteers were agents4change in dance4life Russia in 2010.

Starting in 2011, after completing the skills4life program and taking part in an act4life project, the volunteer becomes an agent4change.  Previously, participation in the Heart Connection Tour was also mandatory.

One of dance4life’s main goals is to unite 1 million young people around the world in 2014, who have made significant contributions to youth health and the fight against HIV.

Over 90,000 people across Russia took part in dance4life on TB Day in 2010.

For the first time, dance4life got involved in TB prevention, with the organization of a widespread campaign entitled “Your health in your hands.  Get enlightened!”  that was held in 23 regions in Russia.  The project was supported by Lilly MDR-TB Partnership, and received a positive response.

The campaign included the photo exhibition “Your Health in Your Hands” by the photographer Serge Golovach (featuring 37 Russian entertainment, television, theater, cinema, and sports stars, as well as well-known doctors who were photographed alongside their x-rays) and the “White Daisy” campaign, the symbol for the fight against TB in Russia.  Dance4life volunteers invited people to make paper white daisies with them, and used the opportunity to share information about TB with participants.

Over 90,000 people visited the exhibition and took part in the activities between March and April of 2010.
